New European privacy laws may bring more spams and scams in your inbox
According to KrebsOnSecurity, the new GDPR laws that will be brought into effect on May 25th will take away the access security researchers have on data included in Web site domain name records to combat spammers and scammers.The data to be redacted includes the name of the person who registered the domain, as well as their phone number, physical address and email address. The new rules would apply to all domain name registrars globally.

Netflix recently introduced its new Dynamic Optimizer
Netflix’s new Dynamic Optimizer will employ AI techniques to analyse each frame of a video in order to compress it as much as possible without diminishing the image quality. This is a new encoding method that is focused on reducing the size of data used and is largely targeted at the growing number of viewers who watch video over mobile and tablet devices. Netflix has not yet indicated when the Dynamic Optimizer will be implemented across its content, but says that it aiming for a process that is as “as automatic as possible” in order to quickly cover its complete library.

Cloudflare partners with IBM Cloud
Cloudflare recently announced their partnership with IBM Cloud meaning that the new “Cloud Internet Services” offering by IBM will be powered by Cloudflare. The new IBM’s offering will enable IBM Cloud customers to easily purchase and configure mission-critical web performance and security solutions like DDoS Mitigation, Bot Protection, and data theft protection as well as performance challenges, including ensuring application availability and accelerating internet applications and mobile experiences.

Google Ads impacting customer experience
Catchpoint, a company that serves one of the best monitoring solutions currently available, recently published an article stating that they’ve seen a reduction in website load time on websites they monitor due to slow loading Google Ads. Most of the requests were being called before Document Complete, or the time it takes from the URL request being issued to the browser triggering the “onload” event. Document complete time indicates when a user can fully interact with the webpage. Any delay in the onload event limits the user’s ability to interact with a webpage. They’ve also indicated that this is not the first time Google is experiencing issues of this kind.
